Detailed Aims and Objects of the Trust

The International Council for Journalism is guided by a comprehensive set of objectives designed to protect, promote, and sustain the media ecosystem. Below are the core aims that define our work:

• Press Freedom: To defend, endorse, and boost the significance of the International Media community by pointing out difficulties troubling small and medium-scale media.
• Journalist Rights: To protect the safety, efficacy, and freedom of journalists and media organizations globally.
• Ethical Journalism: To promote healthy, informative, educative, objective, and constructive activities for better human life through journalism.
• Public Interest: To uphold public interest and civil society in each country and the overall interests of the peoples of the world.
• Training Programs: To organize educational, charitable, and professional functions, seminars, and programs to train media professionals.
• Educational Institutions: To establish and run schools, colleges, and libraries for the benefit of the public and aspiring journalists.
• Research & Innovation: To promote, encourage, and facilitate research programs and trainings in media innovation and journalism.
• Community Development: To take-up, initiate, or assist social development activities for bringing positive change in the lives of common people.
• Minority Empowerment: To take special protective and beneficiary steps for minority communities, whether they belong to religious, ethnic, or linguistic minorities.
• Human Rights: To work particularly for Human Rights, Welfare, Unity, and Social Justice as well as all over development and upliftment of the people.
• Infrastructure Development: To construct, maintain, alter, improve, or develop any building or works necessary for the purpose of the trust.
• Shelters & Care Centers: To establish, build, or manage Hostels, Short Stay Homes, Rehabilitation Centers, Shelters, and Counseling Centers for women, children, and needy persons.
• Publications: To publish books, magazines, charts, and other periodical illustrations for generating income for the trust for the benefit of its aims.
• Global Cooperation: To promote tolerance, understanding, conflict resolution, peace, and economic and cultural cooperation between peoples and nations.
• National Integration: To work for the integration and development of the nation through media and public awareness campaigns.
• Fundraising: To raise funds and accept gifts, donations, subscriptions in cash or in kind, and any property either movable or immovable for the achievement of the objectives of the trust.
• Asset Management: To acquire, purchase, or otherwise own or take on loan or lease any movable or immovable property necessary for the furtherance of the objects of the trust.
• Transparency: All incomes, earnings, and properties of the trust shall be solely utilized towards the promotion of its aims. No profit shall be paid or transferred to any member of the trust.
• Legal Compliance: The trust will invest its money and funds according to Sec – 11(5) of the Income Tax Act, 1961, and apply for registration under Sec. 80-G and other relevant regulations.
